About The Role

We are looking for a Senior Director of FP&A to serve as the VP of Finance and Accounting's strategic partner and the senior most operator of Rhone's financial planning, analysis, and reporting engine. This is not a caretaker role, it is the architect role. You will own the full FP&A function end to end: the annual planning process, the long range enterprise model, board and investor reporting, and the team that delivers all of it.

This is a player coach role with real organizational weight. You will be hands‑on where it matters most, including high stakes models, board narratives, and capital allocation decisions, while building and leading a growing team of directors, managers, and analysts. You will sit inside the room where strategy gets set, not just the room where it gets modeled.

We want someone who operates at two altitudes at once: deep enough in the numbers to catch what others miss, and senior enough to translate that into a point of view leadership and the board can act on. You will have real ownership, real influence, and the mandate to build a function that scales with a fast growing brand.

What You'll Do

Strategic & Financial Planning

• Own the enterprise wide annual budgeting process end to end, partnering directly with the CEO, COO, and functional leaders to build a plan that is ambitious, grounded, and board ready.
• Lead the rolling forecast cadence, including monthly updates, quarterly reforecasts, and scenario modeling, keeping leadership consistently ahead of what's next.
• Own and continuously evolve the 3 statement long range financial model, translating multi year strategic priorities into a capital and resourcing roadmap leadership can act on.
• Lead capital allocation analysis, evaluating investment trade offs across channels, markets, and initiatives, and building the business case that informs where Rhone spends its next dollar.
• Own forecasted inventory balances, purchase planning, and working capital modeling in close partnership with the VP of Planning and Merchandising.

Board, Investor & Executive Reporting

• Own the monthly close reporting package, including P&L variance analysis, key metrics, and the narrative that gives leadership a clear picture, fast.
• Build and own board and investor reporting materials, partnering directly with the VP of Finance and Accounting to shape the story behind the numbers for Rhone's most senior audiences.
• Serve as a credible, senior presence in board prep and investor conversations, someone leadership trusts to represent the numbers independently.
• Identify the drivers behind budget versus actual gaps and turn them into a point of view, not just an explanation.

Business Partnership

• Serve as the embedded senior finance partner to Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Product (Design, Merch, Planning), translating business decisions into financial impact in real time.
• Own channel economics, unit economics, and pricing strategy analysis, and be the finance voice that shapes major go to market and investment decisions.
• Support strategic initiatives, including new market entry, new channel launches, and, as they arise, M&A or fundraising diligence, with rigorous, board caliber financial analysis.
• Act as a credible, senior presence in cross functional and executive conversations, someone leaders actively want in the room.

Systems, Process & Controls

• Own the FP&A infrastructure in NetSuite and connected planning tools, and lead evaluation of new systems as the business scales beyond what current tools can support.
• Drive continuous improvement in how financial information is built, shared, and used across the organization, setting the standard rather than just following it.
• Establish and enforce SOX compliant controls and documentation standards in partnership with the broader finance and accounting team.

Team Building & Leadership

• Build and lead a growing FP&A organization, starting with a Director of FP&A and Sr. Manager of FP&A as direct reports, with the mandate and budget to add analysts and managers as the brand scales. Define the roles Rhone needs next, hire for both skill and cultural fit, and create an environment where talented people grow quickly.
• Develop a team culture grounded in high standards, intellectual curiosity, and accountability, people who care deeply about the quality of their work and its impact.
• Invest in your team's development through real coaching, clear feedback, and meaningful stretch assignments, not just task delegation.
• Set the standard for what great FP&A looks like at Rhone, in the quality of analysis, the clarity of communication, and the speed at which the team operates.
• Represent finance as a senior voice in cross functional leadership forums, shaping how the broader organization plans and prioritizes.

What Success Looks Like

• First 30 Days: Master Rhone's current FP&A systems and long range model; complete a deep analysis of the multi channel P&L; build trust with cross functional department leaders and finance leadership.
• First 60 Days: Take full operational ownership of the monthly close reporting package and budgeting cadence; identify and begin implementing process improvements; assess the current team structure against near term growth needs.
• First 90 Days: Deliver an updated long range financial scenario model; finalize the hiring roadmap for a growing team; independently own the first comprehensive board reporting package.
• First 6 - 12 Months: Stand up a scaled FP&A function with clear roles and career paths; establish a capital allocation framework used in real investment decisions; become finance leadership's trusted second in command for all planning, forecasting, and board facing work.

What You'll Bring

Experience & Background

• 12 to 15+ years of progressive FP&A experience, including several years operating at a Director level or above, ideally within consumer goods, retail, or DTC lifestyle and apparel brands.
• A proven track record of owning financial planning cycles independently and influencing non finance executives to make data driven decisions.
• Direct experience hiring, building, and scaling FP&A teams; you know what good looks like and how to find and grow it.
• Experience operating in a high growth environment where the playbook is being written in real time, with genuine comfort in ambiguity and rapid change.
• Exposure to board and investor reporting, capital allocation decisions, or strategic finance (fundraising, M&A diligence, or similar) is a strong plus.
• MBA or CPA preferred but not required; what matters most is what you've actually built and delivered.

Technical Capabilities

• Deep proficiency in NetSuite and expert level financial modeling in Microsoft Excel; you build models that others can actually use and understand.
• Hands on experience with connected planning or BI tools (e.g., IBM Planning & Analytics, Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive, DOMO, Power BI, or similar).
• Solid command of GAAP, revenue recognition, multi channel P&A mechanics, and SOX 404 compliance documentation.
• Genuine curiosity about integrating AI tools into finance workflows to enhance analytical rigor and team efficiency.
