Direct Counsel is seeking an experienced Class Action Attorney to join a growing plaintiff-side employment litigation practice. This role focuses primarily on class action and PAGA wage and hour matters , with occasional crossover into discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and sexual harassment claims.
The position offers significant autonomy while working collaboratively with senior attorneys and the litigation team on case strategy and resolution.
Key Responsibilities- Litigate a high volume of class action and PAGA wage and hour matters .
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and class certification briefing .
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and corporate representatives.
- Conduct legal research and prepare substantive motions and written advocacy.
- Analyze payroll, timekeeping, employment policies, and other records.
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, hearings, and court appearances .
- Develop case strategy with senior attorneys and the litigation team.
- Manage client, witness, expert, and opposing counsel communications.
- Handle occasional discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and sexual harassment matters.
- 2+ years of class action litigation experience , preferably in employment law.
- Active California Bar license .
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Strong litigation, legal writing, research, discovery, and case-management skills.
- Experience with wage and hour and PAGA matters strongly preferred.
$120,000–$200,000 + Bonus
Remote | Full-Time
In-office or hybrid arrangements may also be available.
