In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!Location: Pittsburgh, PAWhat you will do:Assist in service of equipment including inspecting and testing systems to verify functionality including but not limited to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubesAssist in the rebuilding of HVAC units. Receive detailed direction while sharing the hands-on task responsibilities with Journeyman and ForemanDrive a company vehicle if required to and from the jobsite to transport and maintain inventory of hand tools and necessary materials for job completionRecord and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely mannerBasic data entry and ability to navigate the use of email, internet, and word processing programsDemonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communicationInteract with customers by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each callExplain technical information to both technical and non-technical audiencesParticipate in available training through regional technician trainers, and off-site/online learning modulesMaintain all required certifications and continue to develop new skill setsWear personal protective equipment when completing service tasksComplete jobsite hazard assessment prior to initiating service and adhere to Daikin Applied and customer safety policies and OSHA guidelinesWhat's in it for you:Training, Refrigeration Certification or other professional on the job training in the HVAC IndustryThe opportunity to work on all types of commercial equipment and cutting-edge technologies such as Intelligent EquipmentDaikin Applied provides technicians with company vehicle (if applicable), laptops, mobile devices, and other technologiesThe ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growthThe support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our bestThe opportunity to work for a leading innovator in HVAC and make a difference in environmental initiatives to create a more sustainable world for allMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDTechnical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent combination of education and experienceValid Driver's License and acceptable driving recordRequired license(s) and/or training card as required by local law districtWork visa sponsorship is not available for this positionPreferred Qualifications:Member of local union or willing to join the unionOSHA 10 within 90 days of hire (Daikin provides this training during onboarding process)Current first aid / CPR cardThe expected hourly rate for this position is $22 - $24 in PA.
