Key Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders and develop appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions
• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices
• Assess patient progress, adjust treatments accordingly, and evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness; make referrals as appropriate
• Document all required information in the electronic documentation system and accurately record treatment minutes per regulatory and clinical requirements
• Supervise and support occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students; participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and required trainings

Required Qualifications

• Active Missouri Occupational Therapist (OT) license required at time of submission
• Minimum of 1 year of OT experience required
• Long Term Care (LTC) or rehabilitation experience required
• New graduates considered if Level II fieldwork experience has been completed (Level I observation experience alone does not qualify)
• Adherence to NBCOT/AOTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with electronic documentation systems in a clinical setting
• Background in providing consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members
• Experience obtaining DME or adaptive equipment per clinical and regulatory requirements
