Job Title: Shipping Clerk Job Description

The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in safely moving heavy industrial pipe and related products within a large yard and warehouse environment, supporting shipping operations through forklift operation, general labor, and coordination of truck loading and unloading. This position offers both first and second shift opportunities with regular overtime available during the week and on weekends, as well as initial training on first shift before transitioning to nights when applicable.

• Operate a sit-down forklift to move heavy industrial pipes throughout the facility, ensuring safe and efficient handling at all times.
• Load and unload trucks with pipe and related materials, following established shipping and receiving procedures.
• Work closely with other forklift operators to coordinate the movement and placement of pipe within the warehouse and yard.
• Handle lumber and place it between pipe lifts to protect materials and maintain safe stacking practices.
• Guide forklift operators into designated areas to pick up and drop off loads, helping to prevent damage and ensure safety.
• Occasionally load trucks with pipe for outgoing shipments based on customer orders and shipping schedules.
• Occasionally operate a band saw to cut materials as needed for orders or inventory requirements.
• Perform general labor tasks related to shipping, inventory handling, and yard organization as directed.
• Support inventory and shipping activities by moving product to appropriate staging or storage locations.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while working in a heavy industrial environment exposed to outdoor elements.

• Minimum 2 years of experience moving heavy industrial pipes or similar heavy products in a warehouse or yard environment.
• Proficiency operating a sit-down forklift to safely move and stack heavy materials.
• Experience with general labor tasks in a shipping, warehouse, or industrial setting.
• Ability to assist with inventory and shipping operations, including loading and unloading trucks.
• Capability to work safely in a large, outdoor yard environment exposed to varying weather conditions.
• Strong awareness of safety practices when working around forklifts and heavy materials.

• Experience using basic material handling equipment in an industrial or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with operating a band saw or similar cutting equipment is a plus.
• Ability to communicate clearly with forklift operators and team members to coordinate movements and tasks.
• Willingness to cross-train in other departments as needed.
• Flexibility to work overtime during the week and on Saturdays and Sundays when required.

The role is based in a large yard and warehouse environment that is exposed to the elements, which can be very hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Team members work around heavy industrial pipe, forklifts, and other material handling equipment, following strict safety procedures. Steel-toed boots, work pants, and a t-shirt without holes or explicit language are required attire. First shift typically runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (with potential to work until 6:00 p.m. or until customer orders are completed), and second shift runs from 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., with initial training conducted on first shift for 23 weeks before transitioning to nights. Overtime is available throughout the week and on Saturdays and Sundays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairless Hills, PA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
