System Administrator

Akkodis is seeking a System Administrator for a Contract with a client in Chicago, IL/ Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate with experience designing, implementing, and migrating enterprise virtual desktop environments while driving cloud transformation and end-user computing modernization initiatives .

Rate Range: $45/hour to $56/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


System Administrator Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, build, and deploy Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) solutions, including scalable landing zones, session hosts, and supporting Azure infrastructure.
• Lead migration activities from Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops to AVD, including user profiles, applications, and workload transitions.
• Configure and manage Nerdio Manager for Enterprise to automate deployments, optimize resources, and support autoscaling capabilities.
• Implement and optimize FSLogix profile management solutions, golden images, and application delivery strategies to enhance user experience and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Azure AD (Entra ID), Active Directory, networking, security, and virtual desktop environments.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and support teams to improve performance, reduce operational costs, ensure platform stability, and support ongoing cloud transformation initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cloud Computing, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise VDI Engineering, End-User Computing, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix, VMware, or related virtualization technologies.
• Strong expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Nerdio Manager for Enterprise, FSLogix, Azure AD (Entra ID), Active Directory, and virtual desktop migrations.
• Microsoft AZ-140 certification required with proven experience leading Citrix-to-AVD migration projects, automating deployments using PowerShell/Azure CLI/Terraform, and optimizing Azure infrastructure for performance, security, and cost efficiency.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $56.00 per hour
