VP, Senior Product Manager, Data & Technology (Asset Management)

Description This Opportunity The Senior Product Manager, Digital Transformation will drive the product strategy, product roadmap development, and market delivery/operation for our Asset Management and Private Debt teams. The incumbent will work closely with business peers and Strategic Technology Solutions team members to effectively execute against digital initiatives including Partner Products, web/mobile channels, and Enterprise Technologies. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dynamic, multidimensional digital professional who is strategic, technology savvy, and skilled in both product strategy and operational efficiencies. You will work closely with technical roles including data architects, SQL developers, business intelligence analysts, vendors, and consultants. Responsibilities Lead the product vision and strategic development process for an assigned business segment, including product roadmap development and periodic review processes. Perform market research, market validation, and whitespace analysis to identify new opportunities for existing and new features and functionality. Foster close relationships with key market constituents to validate product strategy and roadmaps. Deeply understand the business case for proposed products and initiatives in the assigned business segment, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, competitive and risk analysis, industry best practices, and product development timelines. Prepare business case (financial/ROI) analysis to quantify and determine the value to the company of a current or potentially new system/application. Plan, prioritize, and manage the product features and requirements from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize revenue and meet operational, financial, and corporate objectives in the assigned business segment, demonstrating strong understanding of the business segment needs. Collaborate with the engineering and project management teams to ensure consistent execution of product plans following established software development methodology and processes that result in product delivery on time and in budget. Partner with business and technical teams to plan and prioritize system release and specific release content. Engage business partners to develop and execute action plans to address gaps. May mentor other Product Managers to accomplish results and/or provide training. Qualifications 12+ years of related experience. Experience in real estate private equity transactions/investment processes. Hands‑on finance technology experience in a corporate environment. Broad experience synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data to drive decisions for building best‑in‑class digital products. Strong diplomatic and consensus‑building skills. Relevant experience working with third‑party vendors to deliver results. Strong understanding of product lifecycle development. Demonstrated knowledge of digital channels and platforms (e.g., web, mobile, client PC, partner products, social, video). Broad understanding of usability and user‑experience best practices. Experience with Investment Management systems like Yardi, Argus, Chatham, Proda, Cherre, and RealPage highly desired. Domain experience in Commercial Real Estate underwriting process highly desired. Data management, data access, data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics experience is preferred in the business domain. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent in experience); Master’s preferred. Job Location and Travel This position is based in our Chicago office. Our teams work in a hybrid environment; in‑office days vary by team. Salary & Benefits The expected annual base salary range for this role is $150,000–$200,000 and will be further discussed during the interview process. This range represents what Heitman reasonably and in good faith believes we would pay a qualified candidate for this role at the time of posting, based on a full‑time equivalent schedule. Your actual base salary placement will depend on factors such as relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
