Job Overview:

As a full-time Compliance and Leasing Specialist at Red Oak Management Co., Inc. in Detroit, MI , you'll support residents in applying and recertifying for affordable housing according to LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) requirements. This role is meant for a professional with LIHTC experience and the ability to ensure compliance in all work activities.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

In order to keep serving the communities and populations we do, our affordable housing operations and residents need to fully comply with all LIHTC regulations. That's where our Compliance and Leasing Specialist comes in. You'll help residents maintain LIHTC compliance by processing their applications and recertifications within a timely manner as well as walking prospective residents through the application process.

Working with the corporate office, you'll ensure that resident files are fully accurate and up to date. You'll also help oversee the maintenance team to ensure they complete high-quality work and promptly fulfill work orders. To succeed as our Compliance and Leasing Specialist, you'll need meticulous attention to detail and a real drive to help others gain and maintain affordable housing.

THE COMPLIANCE AND LEASING SPECIALIST WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

At least 3 years of property management experience in affordable housing would be ideal, as this role plays a major part in residential compliance activities. Experience with permanent supportive housing or communicating directly with ownership groups would also be helpful! At a base, you'll need:

• Work experience in affordable housing operating under LIHTC compliance standards
• Experience guiding residents through the recertification process
• Caring attitude and a customer service mindset
• High level of discernment and accuracy with strong attention to detail
• Strong drive to complete exceptional work every day
