HS Assistant Spring/Summer Sports Ratio Coach (Stipend) - Lincoln Job located at Lincoln High, DesMoines Public School District, Lincoln, Iowa. Job Description TITLE: HS Assistant Spring/Summer Sports Ratio Coach (Stipend) POSITION TYPE: Part‑Time STIPEND: Varies; may be prorated based on start date. Responsible for coaching Track, Golf, Tennis, Soccer, Baseball, and Softball under the guidance of the Head Coach. Basic Function To instruct participants in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success while fostering pride, self‑discipline, self‑confidence, and sportsmanship. Assist the Head Coach in aligning systems and skill development for the athletic program. Essential Functions Assist the Head Coach in operating the athletic program. Coaches and instructs players individually or in groups on rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques. Follow state, regional, and district regulations governing athletics. Provide proper supervision of athletes at all times. Participate in organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage potential athletes to join the sport. Maintain eligibility forms, emergency data cards, equipment inventory, and related duties as determined by the Head Coach. Monitor academic performance of team members to ensure eligibility requirements are met. Model sports‑like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators. Participate in special activities such as parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies. Follow and maintain knowledge of all district policies and procedures. Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities. Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance. Additional Essential Functions (for all DMPS positions) Attend work on a prompt and regular basis. Maintain confidentiality. Maintain satisfactory and harmonious working relationships with the public, students, and other employees. Assist with other duties as may be assigned. Position Inventory FLSA STATUS: Exempt PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying. WORKING CONDITIONS: May be inside or outside depending on activity. Job Requirements Valid Iowa Coaching Endorsement or Coaching Authorization. Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills. Coaching and/or leadership experience. First Aid and CPR (desired). Knowledge of conference rules and regulations (desired). Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) (desired). Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
