About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - 24 months of current Medical Surgical experience in a hospital or medical center setting - Orthopedic/Rehab experience - Experience with total joint replacements and braces - Epic EMR experience - Experience administering medication specific to cardiac IV/intravenous push is highly preferred License: - Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required Certifications: - BLS (Basic Life Support) required Must-Have: - Skills checklist must be specific to Medical Surgical/Telemetry - Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, or CNO/COO within the past 24 months preferred - Valid driver's license required Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in the Medical Surgical specialty. This role is focused on orthopedic patients, specifically those undergoing total joint replacements. Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:6 during night shifts. The Registered Nurse will be required to float across various facilities. Scrubs will be in navy blue, solid colors. The position will require the nurse to work holidays unless the unit is closed. Contractors must be available to work 1-2 out of 3 upcoming summer holidays. Experience with administering specific cardiac medications is highly preferred. First-time travelers will be accepted for this position. Candidates must demonstrate the required experience during the interview process.
