Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities Our team leverages industry standard open source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes, and Helm. The information below reflects the standard job description for this position: Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met. Basic Qualifications Development experience with any of the following programming languages: Java Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift) Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools Must be a US Citizen; Must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance and a SCI . This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Desired Skills Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g., bash, ash, ksh) Familiarity with the Space Domain Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment Ability to communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level Demonstrated ability to establish strong team relationships and deliver exceptional results Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery Active TS/SCI security clearance #LMSpaceSoftwareEng #SpaceSecurity #SpaceNSS Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $81100.00 - $150500.00 At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
