Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Emergency Department License: Valid RN Licensure Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: - Knowledge of evidence-based practice - Understanding of pathophysiology and pharmacological implications - Experience with tele-monitoring and safe medication administration - Ability to recognize changes in patient condition Description: This position involves a role within the emergency department holding area. The RN will float to medical/surgical/telemetry when not utilized in emergency department holding. The RN is expected to demonstrate an understanding of evidence-based practice. Knowledge of pathophysiology and regulatory issues is essential. Documentation of assessments and clinical procedures must be accurate and thorough. Effective patient and family education is required. The RN must meet standards in the proper use of tele-monitoring and medication administration. Recognition of changes in patient conditions is expected. Role modeling safety behaviors is critical. The RN will report errors and near misses daily. Acting as a patient advocate is a key responsibility. The RN should work independently and as part of a healthcare team. Acceptance of constructive feedback is expected. Maintaining a professional appearance and completing tasks within a given timeframe is crucial. Initiative and conducting necessary follow-up care are important aspects of the role. Weekend rotation is required. No on-call duty is required.
