Job Title: Carbon Machine Operator Job Description

Join a global leader in aircraft landing and braking systems as a Carbon Machine Operator within the Carbon Division. In this role, you will oversee largely automated processes, support CNC operations, and ensure high-quality production of critical components used in commercial, military, business, and regional aircraft. You will work with modern equipment in a manufacturing environment, performing machine oversight, basic data entry, and quality checks to keep production running safely and efficiently.

• Monitor and oversee automated production processes to ensure machines run safely, efficiently, and within specified parameters.
• Operate manufacturing and CNC machinery in the Carbon Division, following established procedures and work instructions.
• Set up or assist with the setup of CNC machines when required, ensuring correct tools, fixtures, and programs are in place.
• Match parts to engineering prints and blueprints to verify that components meet required specifications.
• Perform quality inspections using gauges, micrometers, calipers, and other measurement tools to confirm dimensional accuracy.
• Complete accurate data entry in computer systems to record production information, inspection results, and process data.
• Identify and report any equipment issues, quality concerns, or process deviations to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in a somewhat dirty, production-focused environment while following safety and housekeeping standards.
• Stand and walk for the majority of the shift to monitor machines, move between workstations, and support production needs.
• Follow all safety policies, facility rules, and standard operating procedures, including those related to a tobacco-free workplace.

• At least 6 months to 1 year of experience running any type of machine or working in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Experience matching parts to prints or blueprints to verify correct configuration and dimensions.
• Proficiency using a variety of gauges, including height, depth, and thread gauges, as well as micrometers and calipers.
• Basic computer skills and experience performing data entry in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, with shift rotations occurring approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.
• Ability to stand and walk for the majority of each shift in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with general machine operation, including starting, stopping, and monitoring machines during production.
• Ability to perform quality checks and inspections to ensure parts meet required specifications.

• Experience setting up CNC machines, including loading tools, fixtures, and programs.
• Familiarity with CNC machine operation and controls.
• Knowledge of machine tools and basic machining principles.
• Experience with robotic controls or automated equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Comfort working in a somewhat dirty production environment with partially climate-controlled areas.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Willingness to cross-train and learn new processes and equipment.

This role is based in the Carbon Division within a newer manufacturing facility that has undergone significant upgrades. The environment can be hot or cold depending on the area and season, with some zones being climate controlled and some processes generating typical industrial dust and debris, resulting in a somewhat dirty production setting. Many processes are automated, so you will primarily provide machine oversight rather than constant manual operation. You will work 12-hour rotating shifts, with rotation approximately every 6 to 8 weeks, and will spend most of your shift standing and walking between machines and workstations. The facility uses CNC machinery, machine tools, robotic controls, and computerized data entry systems. This is a tobacco-free facility, and employees are expected to follow all safety and facility rules while maintaining appropriate industrial work attire suitable for a manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Walton, KY.

The pay range for this position is $21.10 - $21.10/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Walton,KY.
