Operations Supervisor - Fleet Maintenance

Schedule Monday to Friday, business hours (must be flexible) Compensation $65,000 + up to 10% annual bonus Benefits Dental, Vision, Medical, 401(k), Stock Options, Paid Time Off (PTO) The Operations Supervisor assists the Operations Manager I and II and/or Sr. Operations Manager I and II in managing the operations and personnel for a shift at a location. The Supervisor oversees employees on the shift, including Technicians‑In‑Charge, Customer Service Coordinators, Technicians, and Service Employees. The role requires delivering results, meeting business objectives, and ensuring labor requirements are satisfied. The Supervisor ensures customer needs are met while balancing financial, operating, quality, safety, and asset targets against business requirements. The position manages location performance against metrics to meet or exceed objectives and may serve as a development path to the Operations Manager role. Essential Functions Workflow Management: responsible for work analysis, planning and scheduling, assigning work to technicians, tracking productivity, conducting shift and shop meetings, reviewing and approving repair orders, executing warranty policies, triaging unscheduled customer drive‑ins, communicating with customers, and conducting yard checks to prioritize work. Labor Management: provide management, training, and development for all personnel assigned; manage performance of all assigned staff. Customer Management: maintain relationships, resolve issues, ensure satisfaction and retention, and manage PM scheduling, breakdowns, and vehicle status updates. Conduct customer visits as required by the Customer Care Plan. Asset Management: direct reports in maintaining location appearance and standards, recommend shop tooling and equipment, manage vehicle in‑service/out‑service processes, ensure vehicles have required specifications, and oversee parts inventory, policies, and procedures. Quality Management: conduct quality inspections of PM and repairs, perform in‑process reviews of non‑PM work, root‑cause analyze breakdowns, implement corrective actions, ensure cleanliness and repair quality, train technicians, prioritize TOPS plans, maintain documentation for compliance, and ensure safety and EPA regulations are met. Financial Management: deliver against Net Maintenance Cost per Unit objectives without compromising quality, safety or customer satisfaction; control cost measures, oversee budget and location P&L, execute maintenance initiatives, manage payroll and purchase orders, reconcile invoices and fuel, and manage customer billback processes with proper documentation. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Ability to represent Ryder professionally and interact competently with customer management. Strong vehicle diagnostics and repair knowledge (preferred). Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (preferred). Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, or 1‑3 years of experience in a maintenance operations environment required; prior success in a Ryder role may replace the education requirement. Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment required. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience with a Shop Management System preferred.
