Job Title: Clinical Research Supervisor – Oncology Job Category: Clinical & Scientific Research Work Location: On-site (Commutable distance preferred; limited in-state relocation assistance may be considered upon approval) Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift Role Summary The Clinical Research Supervisor – Oncology oversees the day-to-day operations and team management for the Oncology clinical research division. This role directly manages an initial team of 3 research team members—expanding to 4+ as the department grows—ensuring compliant study execution, safe patient care, staff development, and smooth clinical operations across oncology protocols, with an emphasis on solid tumors, hematologic malignancies, and related clinical trial subspecialties. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Operations Management Direct Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a growing team of clinical research staff. Talent & Performance: Oversee recruitment, onboarding, ongoing training, and performance management for team members. Scheduling & Productivity: Manage daily team activities, monitor workload distribution, and oversee staffing schedules to maintain high operational productivity. Team Engagement: Build supportive relationships with team members through regular rounding, scheduled check-ins, and active preceptorship. Clinical & Study Management Oncology Portfolio Oversight: Serve as a subject matter resource for Oncology protocols (including solid tumor, hematological, and complex interventional oncology trials), addressing day-to-day operational barriers. Protocol Execution: Ensure compliant clinical trial coordination, including planning, organizing, and executing complex research protocols according to standard operating procedures (SOPs), FDA regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Quality & Safety: Monitor and evaluate patient safety, investigational product management, and protocol adherence within the clinical research unit. Supply & Inventory Control: Oversee clinical supply areas, inventory monitoring, specialized equipment, and lab requisition materials. Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with principal investigators, research operations managers, study intake teams, research services, sponsors, and CRO partners to streamline study start-ups and coordinator handoffs. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Work Experience Required: ~4 years of direct clinical research experience. Required: Experience in Oncology, Hematology/Oncology, or similar related complex therapeutic areas. Required: Demonstrated experience in managing and supervising people. Education & Licensure Required: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Research, or a related field (or equivalent combined education/clinical research experience). Preferred: Registered Nurse (RN) license is a plus, but not required .
