Key Responsibilities

• Manage export compliance activities in alignment with applicable U.S. regulations, including:

  • U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR)

  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)

  • U.S. Customs regulations

  • Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements

• Classify products, components, and technical data in accordance with EAR and ITAR guidelines.

• Prepare, review, and validate export documentation such as:

  • Commercial invoices

  • Shipper's Export Declarations (SED/EEI)

  • Bills of lading

  • Certificates of origin

• Coordinate export license applications and ensure adherence to license provisos and conditions.

• Perform restricted party screenings and maintain audit-ready compliance records.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, supply chain, contracts, and program management teams to ensure compliant international shipments.

• Support internal and external compliance audits and regulatory reviews.

• Maintain export documentation in accordance with regulatory record retention requirements.

• Deliver guidance and training to internal stakeholders on trade compliance policies and procedures.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate potential export compliance risks.

• Mandatory Certification:
  Export Customs Specialist Certificate or Export Specialist Certificate

• 3-7 years of experience in export compliance, customs administration, or trade compliance within aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing environments.

• Strong working knowledge of ITAR and EAR regulations.

• Experience with ERP systems and export compliance software.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Experience supporting defense contracts or handling controlled technical data.

• Familiarity with Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications.

• Experience participating in government audits or voluntary disclosures.

• Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Certified Export Specialist designation preferred.
