About the Position

Telemetry experience required. Trauma Level I experience required. Ability to float within service line. Description: This position requires a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. Work on a unit focused on trauma care and acute care surgery. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-6. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Responsibilities include the administration of blood products, management of peripheral lines, and starting IVs. Nurses will care for patients with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and orthopedic trauma. Experience with wound care, chest tubes, and CPAP/BiPAP is essential. Nurses are expected to maintain isolation precautions and assist with various medical procedures. Patient demographic primarily includes geriatric patients aged 55 and older. Daily census in the unit is around 50-55 patients. Interdisciplinary support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates must be willing to work night shifts and fulfill the contract's scheduling requirements. A maximum of 7 days of time off is permitted during the 13-week contract.
