About the Role:

UNICARGO INC is looking for a sharp and driven Controller to join our team in Kearny, NJ. This is a key leadership role where you'll take ownership of the company's financial operations and help steer strategic growth. Responsibilities:

Oversee all accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll

Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports

Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies

Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners

Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets

Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to senior leadership

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred

5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, with at least 2 years in a Controller or senior accounting role

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards

Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, specifically QBO

Experience in logistics, freight, or supply chain industry is a plus

Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
