Distribution Specialist

Job Summary: The Distribution Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative, operational, and customer support to facilitate efficient distribution and metrology lab functions. This role involves managing shipping and receiving processes, inventory control, order processing, billing, vendor coordination, and reporting while ensuring high service standards and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities: Manage inventory levels, conduct tracking, audits, and reconciliation. Coordinate shipping, receiving, packaging, labeling, and shipment tracking. Process customer and internal orders and communicate order status. Serve as the customer point of contact, resolving inquiries professionally. Prepare billing for lab services, repairs, and vendor fees; support invoice reconciliation. Analyze operational data and prepare inventory, service, and shipping reports. Coordinate with vendors on orders, deliveries, and service schedules. Conduct quality inspections on equipment and materials prior to shipment. Support onboarding and training of new team members and assist in emergency response efforts. Required Skills & Certifications: High School Diploma or GED. Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent customer service abilities. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Ability to lift, carry, and handle packages and equipment for shipping tasks. Preferred Skills & Certifications: Coursework in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration. Prior experience in distribution, logistics, inventory, or customer support roles. Experience in laboratory, manufacturing, or utility environments. Familiarity with ERP, billing, or asset-tracking systems. Special Considerations: Ability to handle physical tasks related to shipping and receiving. Maintain regulatory compliance and service excellence under operational demands.
