Make a meaningful difference in students’ lives by stepping in as a Special Education Teacher at an elementary school. This full-time, contract role covers a maternity leave, offering an engaging assignment from now until December 23rd. You’ll be working in a supportive school community that values inclusivity and individualized instruction.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Special Education (required)
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in an elementary setting preferred
- Knowledge of IEP processes and progress monitoring
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with parents, staff, and related service providers
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Empathy, patience, and dedication to student growth
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students with varying educational needs in accordance with IEP goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and create accessible learning experiences
- Develop, implement, and track IEPs, ensuring compliance with regulations
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs
- Create a positive, nurturing environment that encourages academic and social-emotional growth
- Assist with assessments and data collection to support student achievement
