BOH Staff Member (Line Cook/Prep) POST Houston (77201), Memorial City Mall (77024) Twisted Grilled Cheese is a trendsetting fast-casual restaurant brand featuring gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Position Summary We are looking for BOH Staff Members who will be responsible for prep, line cook, fryers, and all BOH maintenance and cleaning to ensure compliance with food safety standards. Opening and closing shifts available. Full-time and Part-time available. Valid Food Handler’s Certification required prior to hiring. Performs day-to-day responsibilities such as operating grill and sandwich maker, cleaning equipment, etc. Stock and maintain the inventories according to store policies. Reads and prepares menu items as ordered by customers according to portion control and quality standards of the menu. Follows specific recipes and instructions to prepare menu items as ordered to prepare menu items using basic kitchen equipment and preparatory utensils. Prepares food items according to recipes, instructions and customer orders, and follows food handling and safety requirements. Retrieves ingredients from appropriate areas by lifting and carrying to the food preparation area. Communicates shortage of menu items to KitchenManager immediately. Unloads deliveries from truck and places in appropriate storage areas by lifting and carrying boxes. Stores incoming food shipments properly in the storeroom, maintains storeroom neatness, and ensures all food items are stored at the appropriate temperature. Always maintains a neat and orderly work area. Sweeps and mops the kitchen floor at the end of their shift. Completes opening and closing duties in accordance with approved procedures. Reports any health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education & Experience N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities N/A Supervisory Responsibilities N/A Physical Demands The position’s physical demands require work in a restaurant/kitchen environment with moderate to loud noise levels, varying temperature conditions and possible direct exposure to hazardous substances, such as hot oil. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, travel and react quickly to deadlines, sometimes with little notice. The employee is often required to stand for long periods; walk, bend, kneel, and reach with hand boxes or food containers typically weighing 50 pounds or less, without restrictions. May be required to use a stepladder. Finger dexterity is required for use of the cash register. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel as needed.
