Summary
A public health organization is seeking a PHIG Operations Support Specialist to work across three complex strategy areas: Workforce Development, Foundational Capabilities, and Data Modernization.
Responsibilities
- Assist with complex tasks involved in the implementation and administration of the PHIG grant, a unique, cross-cutting funding opportunity that supports multiple divisions and programs.
- Organize and maintain official electronic files in MS Teams/SharePoint to ensure information is easy to find and cataloged for future reference.
- Assist with the purchasing and procurement of goods and services that support the goals of the PHIG grant.
- Study and analyze operational procedures and prepare detailed and comprehensive reports of findings and recommendations.
- Assist with coordination and communication with other states' PHIG teams.
- Coordinate the flow of work across PHIG strategy areas and various programs within the agency.
- Track projects through execution and completion and elevate issues that need follow-up.
- Attend conferences and meetings on behalf of the executive leadership team and take notes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Superior attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Flexibility and comfort working both as part of a team and independently in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift.
- Strong understanding of government administration, processes, and procedures.
- Comfortable working with SharePoint.
- Familiarity with JIRA preferred.
Education and Experience
- Completion of at least two years of academic study at an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience working in a government environment, assisting a high-level official with complex administrative and supportive tasks related to the implementation and administration of major projects and programs affecting large divisions, departments, or agencies.
