About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director to guide the organization through a significant leadership transition and to build upon its extensive conservation impact. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, and financial leadership, and will serve as the primary ambassador and champion for the organization's mission. This role involves leading a talented staff team, cultivating strong partnerships, and representing the organization with a diverse range of constituents, including community members, Tribal Nations, government agencies, and funders. The Executive Director will also be tasked with overseeing fundraising, strategic planning, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should be committed to its mission and passionate about the protection of the water, biodiversity, and communities of the Amargosa Basin. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building relationships and partnerships among diverse stakeholders, as well as experience in strategic leadership and guiding organizations through periods of growth and change. Strong financial and operational management skills are essential, as is the ability to foster a collaborative, mission-driven culture and support the professional development of staff. While a background in conservation or related fields is beneficial, the company values leadership, relationship-building, and a genuine appreciation for the people and landscapes of the American Southwest.
