Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Urgent Care Department. This position plays a vital role in assisting patients and medical staff within an ambulatory care setting, ensuring the overall operation of the clinic runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services, collaborating with providers and clinic staff to deliver high-quality care.
• Maintain efficient operation of all clinic aspects, including patient care and front desk management.
• Manage medication inventory and supplies not on the Warehouse PAR system.
• Conduct necessary quality control checks for Point of Care tests.
• Document all care and services accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist providers and other staff, anticipating their needs to ensure efficient patient care.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to serve as an effective resource.
• Ensure the clinic environment is clean and safe, reporting any issues to management.

Qualifications

• Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of recent urgent care experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of the nursing process and its application in a clinical setting.
• Knowledge of customer service principles, safety, and infection control practices.
• Proficient in assessments, anticipating needs, and specimen collection.
• Skilled in the use of medical equipment and computer systems.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Able to multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Diligent team player, willing to teach and assist others when needed.
• Effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Physical Demands

The role requires regular communication abilities, frequent standing, walking, and sitting. The position may also involve lifting or moving items up to 50 lbs and performing tasks that require climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
