Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide acute care nursing services to patients in a fast-paced telemetry unit. Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while adapting quickly to fluctuating patient needs and unit demands.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patient conditions, interpreting telemetry strips and responding to abnormal findings.
• Administer medications, including titratable drips such as Heparin, and manage patient medications as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to other med/surg telemetry units as needed, providing support and maintaining care standards.
• Document patient care accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and in good standing.
• Previous ER hold experience and proficiency with telemetry monitoring.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips independently.
• Experience with ventilated patients, including trach management, is preferred.
• Must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
