Description
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning all age groups through recognized assessment tools and personalized observations.
- Create tailored treatment strategies that cater to both immediate objectives and enduring communication or swallowing requirements.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy targeting language, fluency, voice, and dysphagia interventions.
- Engage with a multidisciplinary team including occupational and physical therapists, nursing professionals, physicians, caregivers, and families to craft unified care approaches.
- Provide valuable education to patients and families to encourage supportive measures outside clinical environments.
- Assist with occasional inpatient therapy evaluations and practices, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity throughout the patient's healing journey.
- Accurately document patient progress and treatment in compliance with local, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and collaborative efforts.
Education
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is necessary, unless ASHA certification is obtained.
Certifications
- Current licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist in Florida.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within the first month of employment.
