Position Summary The Facilities Associate helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming YMCA environment by supporting daily facility operations, basic maintenance, cleaning, room setups, and general upkeep. This entry-level role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining facilities, and is committed to providing an exceptional experience for members, guests, and staff. Facility Maintenance & Operations Conduct routine facility inspections and report maintenance, cleanliness, or safety concerns. Perform basic repairs, painting, equipment setup, furniture moving, and preventative maintenance tasks. Assist with cleaning and sanitation of indoor and outdoor spaces. Maintain tools, equipment, supplies, and storage areas. Support seasonal needs, including snow removal and exterior cleanup. Event & Program Support Set up and break down rooms, furniture, and equipment for programs, meetings, rentals, and events. Respond promptly to facility-related requests from staff and leadership. Assist vendors and contractors by preparing work areas and providing access as directed. Report service concerns and help restore spaces after work is completed. Safety & Risk Management Identify, report, and address facility safety concerns. Follow YMCA safety, cleaning, and emergency procedures. Assist with inspections, drills, and corrective safety actions. Teamwork & Customer Service Collaborate with staff to support daily operations. Interact professionally with members, guests, volunteers, vendors, and coworkers. Demonstrate flexibility to support evenings, weekends, events, and emergencies. Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment that reflects YMCA values Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull furniture, equipment, and facility supplies as needed. Preferred Previous experience in maintenance, custodial services, facilities, groundskeeping, or customer service. Basic knowledge of hand tools, cleaning equipment, and safe work practices Why Work at the Y?
