IT Financial Analyst

Job Summary


Kroger is seeking an IT Financial Analyst to support eCommerce strategic planning through financial analysis, KPI reporting, forecasting, and logistics optimization. The candidate will work with a team of five to analyze business and financial data, develop dashboards and financial models, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.


The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Spark SQL and Databricks , along with SQL and/or Python, Power BI, Excel, and financial reporting. The candidate should be able to translate complex data into meaningful business insights and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.


Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial and operational data to support eCommerce strategic planning and business decisions.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor KPIs, financial reports, forecasts, and performance dashboards.
• Use Spark SQL and Databricks to query, process, and analyze large datasets.
• Build and enhance Power BI dashboards and reports to communicate business performance.
• Use SQL and/or Python to perform data analysis, investigate trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Develop financial models and forecasts to support planning and performance evaluation.
• Analyze logistics and transportation data to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve delivery efficiency.
• Collaborate with business, finance, data, and operations teams to understand requirements and deliver analytical solutions.
• Present findings, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
• Leverage Excel and, where applicable, Alteryx to streamline reporting and analytical processes.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Spark SQL - the most important requirement .
• Experience working with Databricks.
• Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data analysis.
• Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Experience in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, or financial planning.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Alteryx.
• Business Analyst experience.
• eCommerce or retail industry experience.
• Supply chain, logistics, or transportation analytics.
• Experience with middle-mile, trailer, or last-mile delivery optimization.
• Financial modeling and customer mapping.
• Experience supporting strategic planning and executive-level reporting.

Ideal Candidate Profile


A Financial Analyst, Data Analyst, or Business Analyst with strong Spark SQL and Databricks experience, Power BI dashboard development skills, and a background in financial reporting, forecasting, or business analytics. Experience in retail, eCommerce, supply chain, or logistics analytics will be an advantage.
