Vice President, High Grade DCM - Debt Private Placement

About this role:

The High Grade Debt Capital Markets (HG DCM) team is seeking a Vice President in Debt Private Placement to join its Charlotte office. This individual will play a key role in originating, structuring, and executing project bonds and private debt financing solutions for clients across infrastructure, energy, power, renewables, transportation, digital infrastructure, and other asset-backed sectors.

The Vice President will work closely with corporate and investment banking coverage teams, Investment Grade DCM, ratings advisory, and risk partners to deliver strategic financing solutions for clients. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to sponsors, developers, infrastructure funds, and corporate clients by providing capital structure guidance and executing complex debt transactions across the investment-grade and project finance markets.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the day-to-day execution of project finance and infrastructure-related debt capital markets transactions, including project bond and unsecured issuances.
• Partner with client coverage teams to originate new business opportunities and deliver tailored financing solutions for existing and prospective clients.
• Advise clients on capital structure optimization, financing strategy, debt market conditions, and rating agency considerations.
• Develop and maintain financial analyses, financing alternatives, debt capacity assessments, and transaction materials supporting client recommendations.
• Coordinate transaction execution across internal and external stakeholders, including investors, legal counsel, risk management, rating agencies, syndicate desks, and other product partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with project sponsors, developers, utilities, infrastructure investors, and corporate clients to support long-term business development efforts.
• Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and investor demand within the project bond and infrastructure debt markets to identify opportunities and provide strategic insights to clients.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of analysts and associates supporting transaction execution.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Investment Banking experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.

Desired Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Debt Capital Markets, Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance, Investment Banking, Structured Finance, or a combination of these areas.
• Demonstrated experience originating, structuring, and executing project finance, infrastructure finance, or other complex debt capital markets transactions.
• Strong understanding of investment-grade debt markets, project finance structures, institutional investor dynamics, and rating agency methodologies.
• Experience supporting financings across sectors such as power, renewables, utilities, transportation, energy transition, digital infrastructure, telecommunications infrastructure, or social infrastructure.
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and credit analysis skills.
• Ability to evaluate project risks, financing structures, contractual frameworks, and capital structure alternatives.
• Proven ability to manage multiple live transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
• Strong business development and relationship management skills with experience interacting directly with corporate clients, financial sponsors, infrastructure investors, and senior executives.
• Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or other advanced designation preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of capital markets transaction execution, debt documentation, syndication processes, and regulatory requirements.

Job Expectations:

• Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. FINRA Series 63 and 79 examinations, or equivalent must be completed within either a 90 or 180-day time period following commencement of employment, depending upon the number of license(s) needed if not immediately available to transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted. This will be communicated at time of offer acceptance. Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory. In addition to state registration and licensing requirements, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA licensing review process at the time of offer acceptance. For specific FINRA qualification exams obtained after 9/30/2018, the Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam co-requisite is required.

Pay Range

Salary is just one component of Wells Fargo's total rewards package. Depending on the role, a Wells Fargo's employee may be eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company in the form of Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $185,000.00 - $300,000.00
