Speech Pathologist (SLP) Acute Care Part Time

Job Description Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Acute Care team. This part‑time position requires 20 hours per week, day shift 8 am‑12 pm, one weekend day per month and one major holiday per year. Speech Pathologist Job Responsibilities Adhere to department policies regarding timeframe, form and content of written evaluations, progress notes and discharge summaries. Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, the healthcare team, students, supervisors and external contacts. Complete all administrative responsibilities in support of the operating unit while demonstrating essential skill competencies in the use of treatment modalities, equipment and protocols. Perform re‑evaluations according to department guidelines and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Select evaluation and treatment methods appropriate to the diagnosis, age group and physical/emotional status of patients, while formulating appropriate treatment plans. May perform additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Sciences Disorders accredited by ASHA. Experience: New graduate Speech Language Pathologist eligible for clinical fellowship. Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association required upon start. Licensure: VA Speech Language Pathologist License required upon start or provisional VA license accepted if candidate is considered for clinical fellowship (must be eligible for full active VA licensure upon completion of CFY). Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of Speech Language Pathologist experience in an acute care setting. CCC and MBSImP certifications. Inova Health System is an Equal Opportunity employer.
