Aveanna Healthcare Private Duty Nurse LVN : Days/Nights - Part Time/PRN

Position Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) is responsible for providing and documenting skilled nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with care plans and physicians’ orders. The role requires adherence to confidentiality standards, professional boundaries, and regulatory requirements. Essential Job Functions Deliver and coordinate quality patient care in compliance with physician orders. Continuously observe and assess patient condition and care needs, reporting changes to the supervisor and/or physician as needed. Document all activities, assessments, nursing actions, responses, and coordination of care in a timely manner. Participate in, implement, and update the nursing care plan. Take appropriate nursing action based on assessment to achieve expected outcomes. Recognize changes in patient needs and respond with interventions to prevent or reduce risk. Comply with Aveanna policies, state and federal regulations, accrediting bodies, and the Nurse Practice Act. Provide care utilizing infection control measures to protect staff and patients per OSHA standards. Educate patients and families regarding disease process, self‑care techniques, and prevention strategies. Maintain competency by participating in educational programs, continued education units, and skill evaluations. Qualifications Active, unencumbered LPN/LVN license in the state of practice. Current CPR certification (hands‑on component). TB skin test recent within the last 12 months. At least six months of hands‑on nursing experience preferred but not required. Reliable transportation. Requirements Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, unrestricted state license as a Licensed Nurse. Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies and procedures. Additional State‑Specific Requirements South Carolina – One year of pediatrics experience. California – One year of experience working under current nursing license. Louisiana – One year of experience working as a licensed nurse. Continuing education as required by state. Preferences Six months of recent experience as a Licensed Nurse in a clinical care setting. Home health experience. Other Skills/Abilities Attention to detail. Time management. Effective problem‑solving and conflict resolution. Good organization and communication skills. Physical Requirements Must speak, read, write, and understand English. Must travel and lift up to 50 pounds. Must reposition patients and move equipment without assistance. Must perform prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and climbing stairs. Must have adequate visual and hearing acuity, and a strong sense of smell and touch. Must respond physically and mentally to emergencies in the home or during transport. Environment Must function in a variety of environments, potentially exposing to allergens and other conditions.
