Medical Technologist - Per Diem

Perform and interpret various chemical, microscopic, and/or bacteriologic tests, including the most complex tests for an assigned area Provide guidance and consultation to Medical Technologist I’s and Medical Lab Technicians on complex or unusual test results Correlate clinical test results with patient history, diagnosis, and clinical condition Troubleshoot testing process discrepancies Assist in developing new tests and quality procedures Ensure test results meet laboratory quality control requirements Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of laboratory equipment and instrumentation Assist with rollout of new equipment and equipment modifications Instruct technicians and technologists on new equipment and procedures Ensure compliance with laboratory quality and safety policies Instruct students in clinical laboratory operations and procedures Maintain accurate test records using computer-based systems Requirements Bachelor’s degree or successful completion of an accredited four-year school of Medical Technology Three years of related experience Fully proficient in the use of all equipment and procedures for an assigned area ASCP certification as an MT is preferred Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted unless certification, licensure, or registration is required Required availability for every third holiday, on-call shifts, Sundays through Saturdays, and weekends Ability to work mixed shifts Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing and interpreting complex chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests while ensuring compliance with laboratory quality and safety policies.
