Workday Financials Consultant I

Location Chicago, IL (Must be within 45 miles of Chicago city limits) Job Summary Workday Financials Consultant I focusing on implementing and supporting Workday Financials solutions for client organizations. Responsibilities Work directly with clients to design, configure, test, and implement Workday Financials technology solutions across multiple modules: Accounting and Finance, Audit and Internal Controls, Revenue Management, Management Reporting, Expenses, Procurement, Inventory, Projects, and Grants Management. Define, build, and implement financial processes and structure in alignment with client business objectives. Deliver high‑quality Workday solutions and solve Workday issues as they arise. Participate in internal training updates and opportunities to share skills. Attend Workday Financials training and become Workday certified. Travel 25%-45% at client request. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline; or equivalent experience (required). CPA license (preferred). 2+ years client interfacing or consulting experience (preferred). Knowledge of core accounting principles. Experience manipulating data in Microsoft Excel using functions and/or macros (preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Problem‑solving ability and openness to diverse perspectives. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
