Position Overview
A healthcare organization in Pittsfield, Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Retail Staff Pharmacist to support its outpatient pharmacy operations. This position is responsible for safe and accurate medication dispensing, prescription verification, patient counseling, and providing medication-related guidance to healthcare professionals.
The pharmacist will work closely with pharmacy technicians, clinicians, and leadership while maintaining compliance with state and federal pharmacy regulations.

Schedule

• 32 hours per week
• Monday through Thursday
• 1:30 PM-10:00 PM
• On-site position

Key Responsibilities

• Review, verify, prepare, and dispense prescription medications accurately and safely.
• Counsel patients regarding prescription medications, over-the-counter products, proper medication use, potential interactions, dosing, and precautions.
• Provide medication and drug-information support to physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals, patients, and families.
• Maintain efficient pharmacy workflow while prioritizing patient safety and service.
• Ensure prescriptions and pharmacy activities comply with applicable Massachusetts and federal regulations.
• Work collaboratively with pharmacy technicians, clinicians, and pharmacy leadership.
• Utilize pharmacy management software, electronic prescribing platforms, clinical systems, and related pharmacy technology.
• Support insurance processing and other outpatient pharmacy functions as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy.
• ctive Massachusetts Pharmacist license.
• Immunization certification.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• t least 3 years of experience as a licensed pharmacist.
• Experience working with pharmacy workflow processes.
• Experience providing prescription and over-the-counter medication counseling.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacotherapy, medication dosing, drug interactions, and contraindications.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-counseling abilities.

• Comfortable working with pharmacy management systems, electronic prescribing, automation, and clinical technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Community, outpatient, or specialty pharmacy experience.
• Pharmacy automation experience.
• Experience with insurance claim adjudication and prior authorizations.
• Familiarity with patient assistance programs.
• Experience working in a 340B pharmacy environment.
