Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.**2nd Shift****Role Definition** Provides technical expertise necessary to design all aspects of production, costs, quality, compliance to safety guidelines, and environmental requirements for manufacturing.**Responsibilities** • Identifying and implementing enhancements and modifications to complex manufacturing operations equipment and processes. • Monitoring sophisticated equipment and process reliability; identifying and addressing problem areas. • Providing supervision, coaching and development for operations staff and support areas. • Leading engineering support on planning, development, operation, and maintenance of equipment, processes, or facilities.**Degree Requirement** Undergraduate degree or equivelant previous ME experience.**Skill Descriptors** **Influencing:** Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to impact decisions within and outside own organization. Level Extensive Experience: • Trains others on most components of engineering as related to manufacturing. • Guides others on the application of manufacturing industry and organizational best engineering practices and explains their rationale. • Facilitates the integration of engineering systems and applications for a manufacturing organization. • Advises others on the key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for engineering standards, policies and practices. • Monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and improves engineering operations performance. • Works with various complex engineering operations in a manufacturing environment.**Lean Manufacturing:** Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes. Level Extensive Experience: • Monitors methods and requirements for equipment environment to ensure protection against damage. • Participates in evaluation and selection of new equipment. • Facilitates the coordination and integration of multi-vendor equipment environments. • Analyzes equipment history; monitors overall machine performance; evaluates planned upgrades. • Plans, tests and implements changes to manufacturing infrastructure and environment. • Ensures that employees are qualified to operate equipment effectively and safely.**Manufacturing Processes:** Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process. Level Extensive Experience: • Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness. • Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks. • Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process. • Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies. • Selects and optimizes specific methodologies for specific products. • Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies.**Troubleshooting Technical Problems:** Knowledge of troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, detect and resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment.
