INTERNAL POSTING - Grants Administrator I

Grants And Contracts Administration

This employee will be responsible for planning and coordinating the administration of grants and contracts for a moderately complex financial system. Job duties include:

  • Working through the grant process from the beginning with the Principal Investigator (PI), through all approval processes, submission, being approved for the grant, setting up the internal process, and maintaining open communication with the Deputy Director and PI.
  • Supervising staff work for completion, accuracy, and timeliness utilizing the internal Grant Tracking Sheet.
  • Vetting all subrecipient agreements and amended subrecipient agreements to ensure that they are accurate, have all the necessary documents, and comply with federal regulations.
  • Overseeing the tracking of subrecipient agreements.
  • Ensuring annual audits are maintained.
  • Communicating to PI all information required to maintain accurate budget documents.
  • Ensuring that monthly postings and expenditures are accurate.
  • Working with Grants Administrator to set up all grants in SCEIS.
  • Closing out grants.
  • Working with Grants Administrator to ensure all indirect costs are processed correctly.

Minimum and additional requirements include a bachelor's degree and business, personnel, grant-in-aid or public administration experience.

Preferred qualifications include Grants Management Concepts Certifications. Knowledge of state and federal development and assistance programs. Knowledge of the principles and procedures involved in obtaining grant funds from various federal, state and other sources. Knowledge of the principles and practices of public and business administration. Knowledge of government accounting and budgeting. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with grant recipients and partner agencies.
