Position Title Route Manager (Commercial Pest Control Technician) Overview Sprague Pest Solutions is looking for a dynamic Route Manager to manage a dedicated route of commercial clients, deliver pest control and inspection services, and grow business opportunities. This role requires independent work, strong communication, and commitment to safety and continuous learning. Work a flexible schedule, handling urgent and unscheduled services. Provide proactive guidance and recommendations to clients, communicate options for new or complex pest problems. Respond quickly and professionally to client complaints and service requests. Seek growth opportunities: solicit referrals, discuss add‑on services, products, and equipment, and log leads for sales. Drive and maintain a clean, safe, and organized company vehicle per Sprague and DOT standards. Set up, monitor, and tear down equipment for new installations and specialized treatments. Engage in regular training sessions to earn and maintain certifications and stay updated on pest control methods and technologies. Partner with clients and technical specialists to create action plans for prevention and problem resolution. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license and satisfactory motor vehicle record. 2+ years experience in route sales, facilities management, janitorial, landscaping, or environmental services. 2+ years customer‑service, sales, retail, or hospitality experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Attention to detail and high standards of work quality. Commitment to safety and continuous learning. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and relevant technology. Background screening and DOT physical requirements (5‑panel drug screen). Prior pest control experience or certifications is a plus. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, crawl, climb, and endure various weather conditions. Pre‑Hire Screening 5+ years satisfactory motor vehicle record. Federal, state, and county criminal background check. DOT physical with mandatory 5‑panel drug screen.
