Registered Nurse - Surgical Services

Location

This position is located in New York State.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Mid 4x10-hour shifts (1:00 PM - 11:30 PM) are primarily required, with flexibility to accommodate other shifts as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care in Surgical Services, demonstrating proficiency in various surgical procedures and patient management. This role requires collaboration with a diverse healthcare team and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in a variety of surgical interventions across multiple specialties, including ortho, neuro, GYN/urology, vascular, and thoracic.
• Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients.
• Administer medications and manage patient IVs and phlebotomy as required.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols, including universal precautions.
• Participate in call rotation as necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in surgical services or a related area.
• BLS certification required; CNOR preferred.
• Active NY State RN license required.
• Experience with EPIC or similar electronic charting systems is highly preferred.
• Competency in placing IVs and performing phlebotomy is mandatory.
