Assistant Project Manager- Hospitality and Office (Design and Construction) Brailsford & Dunlavey (B&D) is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Hospitality and Office team in Chicago. This is a hybrid role based in Chicago, IL. You will support project teams throughout planning, design, and construction phases by assisting with coordination, documentation, financial tracking, stakeholder communication, and field support to help ensure successful project delivery. How You’ll Contribute Support project managers in the coordination and delivery of hospitality and office development and renovation projects Assist with project planning, design coordination, and pre-construction activities Help track project budgets, schedules, and reporting tools to support overall project controls Assist in reviewing architectural and engineering drawings and construction documents Support procurement activities, including coordination of design and construction contracts and consultant agreements Participate in project meetings, including preparation of agendas, notes, and tracking of action items Maintain project logs, issue lists, and action item tracking to ensure follow-through and accountability Support review and documentation of potential change orders and budget/schedule impacts Assist with permitting coordination and documentation tracking with design and construction teams Conduct site visits and support field reporting, including observations of construction progress and coordination issues Assist in communication between clients, consultants, contractors, and internal project teams Support project closeout activities, including punch lists, documentation, and final turnover requirements What We’re Looking For 2+ years of experience in project management, construction, real estate development, or related fields (hospitality and office experience preferred) Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or a related field Strong interest in real estate development, construction, and project delivery Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through Ability to work collaboratively in team‑based, client‑facing environments Familiarity with construction drawings, documents, or project management tools is a plus What Sets You Apart You are proactive, motivated, and eager to learn the fundamentals of project management You are coachable and receptive to feedback that supports professional growth You communicate clearly and professionally with team members and clients You are organized and dependable in managing tasks, deadlines, and follow‑ups You bring a collaborative, positive attitude to project teams You are curious about how hospitality and office projects are designed and built You demonstrate integrity, accountability, and professionalism in your work You are excited to grow your career in real estate project management and owner’s representation Benefits Robust Benefits: Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; retirement benefits; professional development support; paid time off; and more. 100% company-paid medical, prescription, and dental insurance premiums for employees and their children Flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care expenses Company-paid contributions to 401(k) retirement accounts Flextime and telecommuting Parental leave Voluntary vision insurance Company-paid disability and life insurance Vacation, sick, and holiday pay Adoption assistance program Reimbursement for professional memberships/certifications Learning & Development department dedicated to providing in‑house training Employee assistance program Corporate fitness center access at most locations Cell phone reimbursement Wellness Committee and wellness‑based programming Salary This role's target base annual salary range is currently $70,000-110,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data.
