This role requires an individual equally comfortable running day-to-day plant operations in a chiller plant, central utility plant, or power generation facility as they are leading multi-million-dollar infrastructure upgrade and construction projects.Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs; ensure CMMS data integrity and work order lifecycle compliance.Drive equipment reliability through root cause analysis (RCA), failure mode tracking, and continuous improvement of maintenance SOPs and operating procedures.Coordinate planned outages, concurrent maintenance windows, and system cutovers while maintaining required uptime and redundancy levels.Ensure regulatory compliance across all plant operations: EPA, OSHA, NFPA, state/local air quality permits, and facility-specific security requirements.Conduct project risk assessments for mission-critical systemsManage change control processes for infrastructure modificationsLead contingency planning for emergent operational impactsLead capital improvement projects, infrastructure upgrades, and new construction within operating critical facilities, ranging from $1M to $50M+.Develop and maintain integrated project execution plans (PEPs), work breakdown structures (WBS), and resource-loaded CPM schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent.Manage project budgets, earned value analysis, cost forecasting, and formal change management processes.Coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams (electrical, mechanical, structural, controls, civil) and enforce design-to-schedule integration.Oversee procurement of long-lead critical equipment; generators, switchgear, UPS systems, chillers, transformers, cooling towers and manage vendor performance through delivery and commissioning.Drive commissioning, startup, and integrated systems testing (IST); ensure Tier III/IV or equivalent availability standards are validated prior to turnover.Manage the interface between active plant operations and concurrent construction activities, ensuring Method of Procedure (MOP) discipline and operational risk controls are in place.Interface with facility leadership, engineering teams, contractors, and customer representativesFacilitate planning meetings, outage coordination boards, and project status reviewsEnsure customer operational requirements remain aligned with project executionServe as the single point of accountability for both plant performance and project delivery to client leadership.Conduct formal risk assessments, maintain risk registers, and execute mitigation strategies across operations and project scopes.Implement and enforce HSE standards, quality management systems, and lessons-learned capture processes.Manage subcontractor and vendor scopes, field coordination, and resolution of constructability and interference issues.Support business development efforts including proposal preparation, cost estimating, and client presentations for critical infrastructure pursuits.#IntelBasic Job RequirementsAccredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and seven (7) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal eleven (11) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirementsAbility to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholdersJob related technical knowledge necessary to complete the jobAbility to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelinesAbility to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective mannerOther Job RequirementsMinimum 10 years of combined experience in plant operations/maintenance management and project management within critical infrastructure environments.Direct, hands-on experience managing or supervising operations in at least one of the following: chiller plants or central utility plants (CUPs), power generation or emergency power facilities (diesel, gas turbine, or combined cycle), electrical distribution and switchgear systems (medium voltage and above), or data center critical infrastructure.Demonstrated experience delivering capital projects valued at $2M or greater within or adjacent to operating critical facilities.Working knowledge of critical power distribution (medium voltage switchgear, paralleling systems, automatic transfer schemes, UPS), mechanical cooling systems (chilled water, condenser water, direct expansion), and building management/controls systems.Proficiency with CMMS platforms (Maximo, SAP PM, eMaint, or equivalent) and project controls tools (MS Project).Strong understanding of commissioning processes including factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and integrated systems testing (IST).Thorough knowledge of applicable codes and standards: NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE, IEEE, OSHA, and UFC as applicable.Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/CI Poly clearance.U.S. citizenship requiredPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil), Construction Management, Facilities Management, or a closely related technical discipline.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Certified Plant Maintenance Manager (CPMM), or equivalent credential.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Direct experience with Tier III or Tier IV data center operations and/or construction (Uptime Institute or equivalent).Experience on DOE, DoD, or Intelligence Community facility programs.Background in power plant operations: combined cycle, simple cycle gas turbine, cogeneration, or standby/emergency generation systems.Experience managing large-scale chiller plant operations including centrifugal chillers, thermal energy storage, and waterside economizer systems.Familiarity with modular/prefabricated construction methods for critical infrastructure.Experience with digital delivery tools: BIM 360, digital twin platforms, or integrated project delivery (IPD) models.LEED AP or working knowledge of sustainable design integration in critical facilities.Local candidates preferred.We are an equal opportunity employer.
