Medical Assistant

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support for your assigned provider in our patient care office. You will provide support through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality and in a timely manner. Responsibilities Interview patients and document basic medical history Organize and schedule appointments Update and file medical records and insurance reports Arrange laboratory services Check with patients and type up patients’ charts Assist during medical examinations with scribing Pre-authorize medication prescriptions and imaging Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments You will be called upon to occasionally to perform medical assistant duties for a different provider than your usual assigned provider You may also be called upon to occasionally cover the front desk (check-in or check-out) Assist with phone calls Skills Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work Social perceptiveness and service oriented Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and planning skills Proficiency in Cerner Power Chart or equivalent EMR/EHR software Optional Preferred Skills Proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required License Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) (Preferred) #J-18808-Ljbffr Bernard Personnel Consultants
