Key Responsibilities

• Conduct direct evaluations and re-evaluations of patients, assessing their previous and current functional levels, establishing suitable goals, and making discharge recommendations in line with professional standards.
• Deliver direct physical therapy treatments that adhere to established practices, which include educating patients and their families, advancing treatment plans, and implementing effective therapeutic interventions.
• Utilize appropriate documentation methods and comply with the documentation standards set by the department.
• Collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding patient treatment and progress, as well as with related agencies.
• Actively engage in meetings, in-services, and rounds focused on patient care and departmental matters.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and rehabilitation technicians.
• Manage and prioritize your schedule based on patient treatment demands and departmental duties.
• Contribute to program development as directed by the Physical Therapy Clinical Leader.
• Participate in a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education annually to maintain professional competency.
• Provide at least one in-service training session each year for staff and/or the community for educational purposes.
• Comply with all regulations from the Department of Health and the Joint Commission concerning the physical environment and patient care.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• Current license as a Physical Therapist in the District of Columbia or eligibility to obtain such a license.
• Must be eligible for a reciprocity license or apply to take the board examination.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary range of USD $74,214.00 - USD $134,596.00 per year .
