Job Title Safety Inspector (2nd shift) - 18442 Description SUMMARY: Safety Inspectors are required to have a strong understanding of aviation safety principles, aircraft operation and maintenance, AAR policies and federal laws. Primarily, inspectors make sure mechanics, technicians, QC inspectors, aircraft and other equipment function properly. Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repair skills are also part of the job. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all Repair Station personnel comply with current Federal Aviation Regulations, Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, and Policies and Procedures. Demonstrate excellent communication skills, professionalism, and positive customer service attitude without compromising quality. Ensure maintenance and inspection personnel use approved or accepted data issued by the manufacturer, FAA and/or customer. Ensure adequate inspection aids, special tools and equipment are available and maintained in a serviceable condition. Oversight of facility technician training requirements. Oversight of the facility tool control and tool calibration program. Ensure final inspections are properly performed on all work completed before it is released for Return to Service. Conduct audits as required. Ensure incoming parts, supplies, and articles receive an incoming inspection (Receiving Inspection). Perform investigations of accidents, incidents and customer reported quality escapes. Compiling objective evidence by conducting interviews, reviewing documentation, observing activities, performing audits, surveillance and investigations to determine whether organizations and/or individuals (management or non‑management) are conducting business in accordance with regulations and established policies and procedures. Provide direction and recommendations for the resolution of matters of non‑conformance through the development of corrective action plans, comprehensive fixes and/or process changes. Evaluate technicians and the repair facility for continuing adequacy. Evaluate the technicians working on the aircraft training program. Inspect aircraft and related equipment for the accomplishment of proper maintenance. Challenge technicians and inspectors to follow established policies and procedures. Determine adequacy of repair station facilities, maintenance, equipment and procedures; competence of employees; adequacy of program or schedule for periodic maintenance and overhauls; and the airworthiness of the aircraft. Perform a variety of other inspections and/or audits, investigations, and advisory duties as necessary.

Properly interpret blueprints, drawings and other technical data. Five years hands‑on Aircraft Maintenance experience or five years specialized experience in a related aviation field. Demonstrated proficiency with PC applications (Word Processing, Spreadsheets, and Data Analysis tools). Strong written, verbal, presentation and interpersonal skills. Be able to analyze information and utilize problem‑solving skills. Be able to work under adverse conditions in a production aircraft hangar environment. Safety Inspector - Maintenance Experience involving the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and systems of multi‑engine aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight maintained under an airworthiness maintenance and inspection program. Aircraft maintenance experience in a repair station; air carrier or airline repair facility; military repair facility; or local, state, or Federal governmental agency. Experience involving the maintenance and repair of airframes, power plants, and aircraft systems with responsibility for certifying airworthiness. Aircraft maintenance work experience within the last 3 years. Safety Inspector - Avionics Aircraft avionics experience involving the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of installed avionics systems on aircraft. Avionics maintenance experience on aircraft of more than 12,500 pounds maximum certificated takeoff weight. Aircraft avionics work experience (which could include supervision or auditing) in a repair station; air carrier repair facility; military repair facility; or local, state, or Federal governmental agency within the last 3 years. Education High School Diploma or equivalent. FAA A&P certificate. ASQ, ISO or similar certificate (preferred). Formal Quality Assurance auditing training (preferred). College or University 2/4 year degree (preferred). Physical Demands May be exposed to high level of noise, dust, vibration and chemical fumes (within OSHA limits). Able to climb on ladders and platforms occasionally attaining heights of various aircraft types. Job Details Primary Location: United States – Florida – Miami – Aircraft Services.
