Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery, Nursery, and Postpartum care in Hilo, Hawaii. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team committed to providing comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout the perinatal period.

The unit features 8 Labor Beds and 18 Postpartum Beds, offering a diverse patient population. Responsibilities encompass the full spectrum of care from labor management and delivery assistance to immediate newborn stabilization and comprehensive postpartum recovery support for mothers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers.
• Assist physicians and healthcare team during the delivery process.
• Administer immediate post-delivery care to newborns.
• Deliver holistic postpartum care to mothers, promoting recovery and well-being.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery.

Preferred Qualifications

• STABLE certification.
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in Labor & Delivery nursing skills.
• Competency in fetal monitoring techniques and interpretation.
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, specifically Meditech.
• Familiarity with GE/Centricity Fetal Monitoring System.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: NOC (Night Shift)
• Shift Duration: 12 hours
• Days per Week: 3 (36 hours weekly)
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Call Requirements: Scheduled 12 hours of call at least once per month.

Licensing Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Hawaii, required by start of assignment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
