Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality critical care to patients in a 36-bed progressive care unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and efficient recovery. Deliver comprehensive nursing care with a focus on advanced assessment and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions thoroughly and develop individualized care plans.
• Manage vasoactive drips and perform critical procedures such as central line or PICC line placement.
• Administer medications and treatments using BiPAP, heated high-flow nasal cannulas, and IV pumps.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
• Document patient progress accurately in Meditech and maintain communication with team during bedside reports.
• Exhibit leadership during hourly rounding and participate in daily leadership rounds.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of ICU experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate advanced assessment skills and critical thinking ability.
• Ability to manage vasoactive drips and perform procedures like chest tube placement.
• Flexible and adaptable to unit policies, including floating and holiday scheduling.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
