Property Management Accounting Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking an organized and dependable Property Management Accounting Specialist to support daily accounting operations and provide exceptional service to property owners. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in cloud-based property management software.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform accounting and related property management tasks using cloud-based management software.

Process daily electronic deposits, pay property-related expenses, and distribute funds to property owners.

Understand transaction flows, review and interpret tenant and owner ledgers, and respond to account inquiries.

Prepare and send accounting statements to property owners upon request.

Monitor electronic payment systems, send and receive payments, and maintain accurate account information.

Assist property owners by phone and email with account questions and concerns.

Process security deposit transfers and review move-out accounting for accuracy.

Assist with account reconciliations.

Support the preparation of year-end accounting reports and financial statements.

Collect required tax information and assist with the preparation of necessary tax documents.

Complete special projects and additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Skills

Strong computer and technology skills, including experience with cloud-based software and applications.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ability to manage tasks independently and solve problems with minimal direction.

Strong verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

A professional, positive demeanor.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Effective negotiation and conflict-resolution skills, including the ability to calmly address difficult situations.

Education and Experience

A two- or four-year college degree.

One to two years of experience in accounting, customer service, or a related field.
