Quality Improvement & Measurement Consultant Hybrid in Washington, DC Join us in shaping a healthier future for kids. At Children’s Hospital Association, we unite more than 200 member hospitals to put children first—advancing care, informing policy, and driving progress together. Where You’ll Work This position can be based in either our Washington, D.C. or Lenexa, KS offices. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work. What You’ll Do The Quality Improvement & Measurement Consultant leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement (QI) initiatives and collaboratives, with a focus on measurable outcomes and sustainable change. Through collaboration with pediatric hospital teams, internal colleagues, and external partners to design and execute data-driven QI strategies, coach teams through change, and foster peer learning environments. Lead the design and execution of multi-site QI initiatives and learning collaboratives with member hospitals and healthcare partners. Apply evidence-based improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, PDSA cycles, Model for Improvement) to test and scale interventions. Design learning curricula, session agendas, and presentations tailored to support a variety of clinical and operational improvement goals in collaboration with faculty and the Project Management and Program Design Specialist. Facilitate peer learning through in-person workshops, webinars, community board discussions and virtual learning sessions that engage participants in collaborative problem‑solving. Co‑create in collaboration with the Project Management and Program Design Specialist and Brand Communications team implementation resources, change packages, and toolkits to support teams at all stages of their improvement journey. Support the development of academic or public‑facing publications, including providing input on data analysis, drafting content, and collaborating with faculty and partners on dissemination efforts. Develop and refine process, outcome, and balancing measures aligned with program objectives and national standards. Translate quantitative and qualitative data into meaningful insights and recommendations for QI teams. Present data in a way that empowers healthcare teams to take action and track progress. Collaborate with statisticians, data analysts, and subject matter experts to ensure improvement measures are valid, reliable, and feasible to implement. Lead in developing summary reports, executive reports, dashboards, and presentations to highlight program outcomes and progress in collaboration with the Project Management and Program Design Specialist, statisticians, and data analysts. Serve as a trusted improvement advisor and coach to member hospitals, tailoring support to individual team needs, readiness, and goals. Provide coaching on data interpretation, improvement methods, team dynamics, and change management strategies. Build strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders across departments and organizations to align and sustain improvement efforts. Facilitate regular external meetings with faculty advisors, research collaborators, members, and workgroups to align improvement and measurement strategies across an initiative. Stay up to date on emerging trends, tools, and evidence in pediatric quality, improvement science, and performance measurement. Contribute to internal improvement efforts and organizational learning within the department and across the organization. Support strategic planning and program design for future quality and data initiatives. What You’ll Bring to CHA Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field, public health, healthcare administration, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of experience in healthcare quality improvement, program implementation, or consulting. Expertise in clinical quality measurement (e.g., AHRQ, CMS, NCQA) and improvement frameworks (e.g., IHI, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.). Demonstrated success in leading or facilitating QI collaboratives, learning networks, or multi‑site improvement projects. Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with experience designing and delivering both virtual and in‑person learning experiences. Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. Ability to travel up to 30% Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in public health, healthcare quality, health services research, nursing, or related field. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, or formal training in Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent QI methodology. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), ASQ or similar credential. Experience working in pediatrics, hospitals, or healthcare associations. Proficiency in tools such as Tableau, Excel, and project management software (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana). Min: $80,000 Max: $160,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
