Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting required; MBA or Master’s in Finance strongly preferred. Professional Experience: 7–10+ years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) or Strategic Finance, preferably within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) or project‑based industry. Strategic Skill Set: Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis. Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial BI tools; ability to synthesize large datasets into executive‑ready dashboards. Strong understanding of AEC‑specific financial levers, such as labor multipliers, utilization rates, and WIP (Work-in‑Progress) analysis. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into strategic advice for non‑financial stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Lead the development of annual operating budgets and long‑term financial forecasts in collaboration with department heads. Develop long‑term financial strategies that support corporate growth objectives. Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to track firm‑wide performance and drive accountability across departments. Project Profitability & Performance Strategy Analyze the financial health of large-scale civil engineering projects; evaluate labor multipliers, overhead absorption, and department utilization to ensure target margins. Advise project managers and leadership on contract financial implications, including change order profitability and subconsultant risk assessment. Conduct cost‑benefit and ROI analysis on new service offerings, technology investments, and market expansion opportunities. Create executive dashboards to monitor utilization, backlog, labor efficiency, project profitability, and company performance. Executive & Shareholder Partnership Provide executive‑level decision support for capital allocation, including recommendations on shareholder distributions and re‑investment. Monitor industry trends and macroeconomic indicators to advise the executive team on risks and growth opportunities proactively. Evaluate acquisitions, office expansions, new service offerings, and capital investments. Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to align high‑level strategic goals with accurate, GAAP‑compliant financial reporting. Compensation: The compensation range is a good‑faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
