About the Position

Registered Nurse – Emergency Department – Permanent / Full-time – Sitka, AK Location: Sitka, AK Employment: Permanent, full-time Specialty: Emergency Department Shift: Days, Full Time Start: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) to join a critical access hospital in Sitka, AK. In this role, you will deliver high-acuity, fast-paced care to a diverse patient population presenting with a wide range of emergent and critical conditions. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure rapid assessment, stabilization, and treatment for every patient who comes through the emergency department. Key Responsibilities • Perform rapid triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on acuity and presenting condition • Initiate and manage IV access, fluid resuscitation, and medication administration per provider orders • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and hemodynamic status using bedside equipment • Assist with emergency procedures including intubation, chest tube placement, and trauma resuscitation • Coordinate care transitions, including admissions, transfers, and discharges, in collaboration with the care team • Communicate critical findings to physicians and advanced practice providers in a timely manner • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, discharge instructions, and follow-up care plans ✅ Requirements • Active AK or Compact RN license • BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, ENPC (preferred) certifications • 1+ years of Emergency Department experience Pay Salary range: $86,000 to $117,000 per year.
