JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Family Support is responsible for developing, implementing, and growing prevention, intervention, and church based family support programs that make a lasting impact on at risk children and families. This role provides leadership over wraparound services, community and church partnerships, volunteer mobilization, and program expansion initiatives, ensuring One More Child (OMC) is a trusted, first choice referral and support organization in the community.
This position oversees evidence-based family support initiatives, including Family Resource Center operations where applicable, and leads efforts to equip and mobilize local churches to serve foster families, single mothers, and vulnerable populations affected by human trafficking. The Director is responsible for program development, compliance, budgeting, impact reporting, and collaboration with internal teams and external partners. This is a growth focused role within a developing program area and requires an entrepreneurial leader excited to build, innovate, and steward long term success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
- Develop, implement, and oversee prevention, intervention, and wraparound support programs for vulnerable children and families, including volunteer coordination, resource development, and direct service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with community partners, referral agencies, and local churches to establish OMC as a credible and preferred provider of family support services.
- Lead church engagement and mobilization efforts, equipping churches to support foster families, single mothers, and individuals impacted by human trafficking through training, resources, and structured programs.
- Develop and adapt OMC program templates to establish sustainable church based family support and single mother community programs.
- Identify, pursue, and support funding opportunities for programs, collaborating with the Executive Director and Development team on contracts, grants, donor engagement, and fundraising initiatives.
- Represent One More Child in the community through speaking engagements, events, trainings, and outreach activities that build awareness, partnerships, and mission alignment.
- Lead and coordinate training initiatives for church members, volunteers, and community stakeholders related to trauma informed care, child welfare issues, and human trafficking prevention and awareness.
- Mobilize, recruit, train, and support volunteers, ensuring engagement efforts align with organizational goals and generate measurable community impact.
- Oversee direct services delivered through church based and community initiatives, ensuring quality, compassion, and effectiveness.
- Track, evaluate, and report program outcomes, metrics, and impact, using data to inform continuous improvement and strategic decision making.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual, funding, accreditation, organizational, legal, and government requirements.
- Plan, monitor, and manage assigned program budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within allocations and revenue is properly billed and received.
- Maintain productive working relationships across departments and provide regular updates to leadership regarding program performance, staffing, metrics, and resource needs.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and continuing education as assigned or approved.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, and support to direct reports overseeing family support and community based programs, as applicable.
- Ensure staff and program operations comply with all applicable contracts, guidelines, and organizational policies.
- Align department level budgets with overall Family Support budgetary goals and accountability.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Four or more years of experience working with families within the child welfare system or high risk family populations.
- Two or more years in a leadership role within a nonprofit, ministry, or social services setting, including program or project leadership with demonstrated success.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Supervisory experience in a nonprofit or child welfare setting.
- Experience with program oversight, budgeting, and strategic planning.
- Background in foster care, child welfare, community outreach, public speaking, development, fundraising, or human trafficking prevention.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
These physical requirements are not exhaustive, and One More Child may add additional job-related physical demands to these if the need arises. Corrective devices may be used to meet these physical requirements.
This position requires the ability to travel both locally and nationally, involving extended periods of driving or flying, and at times lifting of materials or supplies for events and programs (up to fifty pounds). The ability to spend considerable time in meetings, giving presentations, and at events is necessary, which will require sitting or standing for extended periods or moving between different locations. The ability to set up events, including arranging tables, chairs, and other necessary materials of varying weights, is needed. The role also involves regular computer use for communication, data entry, and program planning, which requires the ability to type, move, and enter data. The pace of the job can vary, with periods of heavy activity during program launches or community events that require staying engaged and focused for extended periods. The ability to work weekends and evenings for events or programs is also essential.
